What the MHS Hall of Fame Is All About

Statement of Purpose

  • To recognize and preserve the heritage of McIntosh High School.

  • To honor those persons who through distinguished achievement have excelled in one or more high school activity program sponsored by McIntosh High School.

  • To keep alive the history, traditions and spirit of McIntosh High School.

 

MHS Athletic Hall of Fame Nomination

 

Eligibility: Nominees shall include individuals who through distinguished achievement have excelled in one or more high school athletic program(s) sponsored by McIntosh High School. These individuals may include athletes, coaches, athletic directors and/or school administrators. All candidates will be judged on their significant and/or long-term contributions to McIntosh High School. Other eligibility considerations may include but not limited to:

 

Athletic Criteria for Consideration:

  • Must be a post-graduate of McIntosh High School of at least ten years.

  • Must have been a two-year letterman in varsity sport at McIntosh High School.

  • May have been an individual state champion, played on a state champion team or played competitive athletics at the collegiate level, and/or professional level.

 

Coach/Athletic Director/ Administrator Critera for Consideration:

  • Must have been a coach at McIntosh High School for at least five years and have established a record of outstanding achievement in interscholastic athletics.

  • May be retired from their field or still active/

  • Must have made contributions to the athletics program of an unusual nature: not covered by other provisions for consideration.

 

Distinguished Alumni Program

To honor, through the “Distinguished Alumni” Program those graduates of McIntosh High School who have made significant and outstanding contributions to the community, the state or the nation.

Distinguished Alumni Criteria for Consideration:

  • Achievements may be accomplished by singular acts or life long contributions.

  • Distinguished Alumni candidates must be a post-graduate of McIntosh High School of at least (20) twenty years.

 

McIntosh Sports/Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame Selection Committee

Will consist of administrators, coaches, and individuals from the Peachtree City Community that will meet several times during the year to consider candidates when directed by the Committee Chairman (Quarterly and/or Monthly meetings - Six (6) Months Prior to the Fall Inductee Event).

 

Recognition of McIntosh HS Sports/Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame Inductees

Recognition of the Hall of Fame Inductees will take place annually during the Fall Athletic Sports Season (in October). The inductees will be introduced on a Friday evening at a MHS Varsity Football Game and recognized at a gala Dinner and Induction Ceremony the next evening (Saturday), featuring inspirational video biographies about each inductee.

 

Please provide as much information as possible on your nominee to help the Hall of Fame selection committee fully evaluate all candidates. Don’t hesitate to get details directly from the nominee! Strongly

suggest attaching the nominee’s resume or bio which should encompass all of their MHS and community activities/involvements/accomplishments/honors/awards, starting in high school up to current day.
