What the MHS Hall of Fame Is All About:
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:
-
To recognize and preserve the heritage of McIntosh High School.
-
To honor those persons who through outstanding achievement have excelled in one or more high school activity programs sponsored by McIntosh High School OR they have brought credit to McIntosh High School through their distinguished accomplishments in their lives.
-
To keep alive the history, traditions and spirit of McIntosh High School.

THERE ARE TWO CATEGORIES WITHIN THE MCINTOSH HIGH SCHOOL HALL OF FAME:
ATHLETE AND DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI. To nominate an individual for the McIntosh High School (MHS) Hall of Fame, either for Athletic accomplishments or as Distinguished Alumni, nominees in either category must be at least five (5) years postgraduate or employment from MHS. Because nominees are evaluated
on the body of their work, it is strongly recommended to have more time since their MHS graduation or departure.

ATHLETE NOMINATION CRITERIA: Athletic nominees include athletes, coaches, athletic directors or school administrators who contributed to MHS through outstanding achievements and excellence in one or more athletic programs. Candidates will be judged on their significant and/or long-term contributions to MHS.
–Nominees who were Athletes must have lettered for at least two years in a varsity sport. They may have also been an individual state champion, played on a state championship team, or played competitive athletics at the collegiate level, and/or professional level.
–Nominees who were Coaches, Athletic Directors, or Administrators must have been a coach, Athletic Director, or Administrator at MHS for at least five years and have established a record of outstanding achievement in interscholastic athletics. They must have made contributions to the MHS athletics program of an unusual nature not covered by other provisions for consideration. They may be retired from their field or still active, however they are not eligible while still at MHS.

DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI CRITERIA: Nominees for Distinguished Alumni will include MHS alumni or longtime faculty members. Nominees must have made significant and outstanding contributions to the school, community, the state and/or the nation. Achievements may be accomplished by singular acts or lifelong contributions.
HALL OF FAME COMMITTEE: The McIntosh HS Hall of Fame Committee consists of administrators, teachers, coaches, and individuals from the Peachtree City. The committee will meet several times during the year to plan the Hall of Fame weekend event and to consider candidates for the next class of inductees. The selection meeting is typically held approximately six months prior to the Hall of Fame weekend event.
HALL OF FAME CELEBRATION: During the Hall of Fame weekend event, the inductees will be introduced on a Friday evening at a MHS Varsity Football Game and recognized at a gala Dinner and Induction Ceremony the next evening (Saturday), featuring inspirational video biographies about each inductee. Additionally each year, a state champion team will also be honored, starting from the earliest (first-ever) state championship team from MHS and continuing chronologically.
